Its establishment was difficult because the ground, formerly in waste land, was woven rocks. The equivalent of 100 trucksloads was extracted from it. Located in the Richelieu Valley east of Iberville Victor Dietrich and his wife Christiane Jooss founded their winery in 1986. They come from Alsace (where they have a vineyard in Colmar) and they have grown vines in Quebec since 1987. They have an Alsace traditional winemaking method, specializing in white wines, late harvest and ice wine. Their vineyard includes an experimental plot with some 36 different vines from around the world. The Winery, noted for its love for visitors has won three Québec tourism awards. Their specialty wine is Cuvée Stephanie, named after their daughter.
